In March 2008, the National Trust opened Quarry Bank Garden, part of Quarry Bank Mill and one of Britain's greatest industrial heritage sites.
Its acquisition by the National Trust (in 2006) ensures that the estate is now complete, and returned to the vision of its 18th century founder, Samuel Greg, who also created the garden.
In the mill itself you can see the most powerful working waterwheel in Europe.
The surrounding Styal Estate offers woodland walks along the valley of the River Bollin and the village of Styal, which was built for the mills' workers.
A new section of garden, zig-zag path, overlooking the upper terrace will be open to the public with additional spring and summer planting.
Open all year.
